Adjunct, Computer Science/Cybersecurity Network Systems (Pool)
Job Description
APPLICANT MUST RESIDE IN THE STATE OF FLORIDA TO BE ELIGIBLE
The primary functions of this adjunct position are to teach courses in Software, Database Development, Technology Management, Cybersecurity, and Network Systems, follow prescribed curriculums, and prepare students for industry certifications where applicable.

Essential Duties Summary
Pursuant to the Manual of Policy 6.019, this is an adjunct instructional position. Adjunct faculty shall not teach more than six semester hours in any given term without the prior recommendation of the division chair and approval of the Vice President of Academic Affairs. Adjunct faculty is required to schedule a minimum of thirty minutes of office time each week per course. When an office is unavailable, the faculty member should be available to meet with students for a commensurate period before or after class.
Coordinate with other faculty to develop course schedules for each semester
Recruit students into the program
Office hours are spent helping students with lecture material and lab work outside of class, reading and returning emails, and returning phone calls.
Other professional duties include; but are not limited to: writing and grading tests, preparing for labs, looking for ways to improve delivery in class, updating course information on our course management system, preparing for committee meetings, attending committee meetings, and helping adjuncts with course-related problems
Develop partnerships with local agencies pertinent to programs.
Attend professional development training, workshops, and seminars
Maintain memberships/participate in professional organizations to stay abreast of best practices within the field
Required Qualifications
Master's degree from a regionally accredited college or university, with 18 graduate semester hours in cybersecurity, computer science, information technology, MIS, CIS or other related IT discipline with substantial programming industry experience preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
Current industry certifications from CompTIA, ISC2, Cisco, Microsoft, Red Hat, and EC-Council are desirable.
