DCS's Infoscitex Sector is seeking a summer 2024 Computer Science Intern to support the development of new sensor data processing/management technologies and associated big data infrastructure leveraging data governance and data standards initiatives. As an intern, you will have the opportunity to work on a diverse team of experienced engineers on projects which directly support Department of Defense efforts world-wide.
Essential Job Functions:
Support the development of government big data and data governance systems by researching and reporting on topics and technologies in directed areas which may include implementing software proof of concept and demonstrations.
Participate in Scrum Team and Release Train activities including supporting agile team stand-ups and other sprint activities.
Assist in Lean/Agile process engineering work.
Collaborate with mixed contractor and government teams.
Required Skills:
Due to the sensitivity of customer requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required.
High School Diploma and currently enrolled as a junior or senior level college student majoring in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or other related engineering discipline. Please include current student classification (freshman, sophomore, junior, or senior) and anticipated graduation date on resume.
Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government background investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
Some experience with writing Python code or equivalent programming languages. Knowledge of Java is also highly desired.
Knowledge of software development using Agile methods with version control software (Git) and software development tools (Jira, Gitlab, Github, BitBucket, etc.). A Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or Certified Scrum Professional (CSP) is highly desired.
Strong interpersonal and customer interaction skills, and ability to work well in team environments.
Strong attention to detail and process driven in order to delivery efficient, accurate work products.
Excellent written and verbal English communications skills.
