We educate, train, and advocate to prevent issues of substance abuse, mental illness, and thoughts of suicide from reaching crisis levels. But when a crisis arises or support is needed, we are available 24/7/365 to intervene with personalized help.

Addictions Recovery Program Supervisor Position Summary: This position supervises Addictions Recovery and CADC Case Managers who support clients referred to the telephone addiction recovery center in accordance with Ballot Measure 110’s Drug Decriminalization and Addiction Treatment Initiative. This position also provides clinical consultation and training to staff and volunteers on drug and alcohol addiction and recovery. Additionally, this position acts as a liaison with SUD treatment service providers, Oregon Health Authority (OHA) and the addiction recovery community and helps provide technical assistance to providers on the interactive database of services.

Addictions Recovery Program Supervisor Responsibilities:
  • Supervise the Case Managers including meeting one-on one with each direct report on a regular basis to provide direction, support, coaching, and completing performance reviews in a timely manner, leading team meetings; and collaborating with Human Resources for hiring, performance management, and other personnel topics.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Clinical Training to develop the training curriculum and lead trainings for staff and volunteers.
  • Provide ongoing clinical training to Lines for Life’s 24/7 clinical staff regarding SUDs, OUD, and MAT and treatment services including services for the following priority populations: 1) pregnant women; 2) women with dependent children; 3) individuals who need treatment for opioid use disorder.
  • Conduct an environmental scan of harm reduction and other SUD programs across Oregon and write a report on the current capacity and the gaps in services by county/city.
  • Ensure that all SUD programs, including harm reduction options, are in the behavioral health directory maintained by Lines for Life.
  • Act as a liaison in the Oregon addiction recovery community and integrate the voices of peers.
  • Meet with OUD and SUD treatment service providers in Oregon on a regular basis to develop an understanding of the services that the provider offers, include the maximum number of eligible provider types into the behavioral health directory, and discuss how to best coordinate care.
  • Train and provide ongoing technical support to OHA staff and treatment service providers on how to access and navigate through the real-time behavioral health directory and provide them with necessary referral information for programs that offer inpatient treatment.
  • Prepare reports for the OHA including: notifying the OHA of the number of individuals who have not received SUD interim services within 14 days from the time of being included on the waitlist with individuals; and reporting out monthly on which providers have reached 90% capacity in a given month with a detailed breakdown by county, provider type, availability of MAT, and the number of individuals from each priority population. Also, prepare a quarterly report for the OHA regarding the ability of the state to meet the needs of individuals who require SUD treatment including OUD treatment and residential treatment for adults with SPMI.
  • Meet with Oregon Health Authority on a monthly basis to discuss the Addictions Recovery Program(s).
  • Collaborate with internal contract stakeholders to ensure that Lines for Life is on track to meet the contractual goals and objectives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Addictions Recovery Program Supervisor Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree with relevant coursework regarding substance use and addictions or equivalent qualified mental health associate (QMHA) education, training, and experience qualifications (https://mhacbo.org/media/QMHA.Worksheet_PDF.pdf).
  • Certified Alcohol Drug Counselor (CADC) in Oregon
  • At least 2 years’ experience providing substance use disorder treatment services
  • Comprehensive knowledge of OUD, MAT and SUDs
  • Case Management experience including demonstrated ability to conduct assessments, collaboratively develop Individual Intervention Plans, facilitate linkage to resources, monitor plans, and advocate.
  • Strong technical skills, especially knowledge of Excel and database management skills
  • Crisis intervention knowledge and experience
  • Able to handle emotional stress
  • Proficient in web-based computer environment and multi-line phone system
  • Experience with crisis planning and suicide response

Addictions Recovery Program Supervisor Preferred Qualifications:

  • Graduate degree in a related behavioral science field.
  • Certified Recovery Mentor (CRM) certification
  • CADC II or CADC III
  • ASIST (Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training) Certification
  • Experience providing clinical supervision and supervising employees
  • Comprehensive knowledge of OUD and SUD treatment providers in the state of Oregon
  • Available to travel to meetings, outreach and conferences throughout the state of Oregon
  • Experience leading trainings
  • Experience working in a call center environment

Addictions Recovery Program Supervisor Work Schedule: This position will typically work Mondays through Fridays, 8:30 AM – 5 PM. This position will require occasional travel throughout the state of Oregon to meet with the OHA and service providers.

Addictions Recovery Program Supervisor Physical Requirements: Work is primarily conducted in an office environment and requires the ability to sit or stand at a computer for extended periods of time.
