Acute Care Nurse Practitioner

Hill Wound Care (HWC) is looking for a full timeNurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join our provider group in the Plano/Frisco/Dallas area. This is an excellent opportunity to join an experienced, full-time wound care and hyperbaric medicine provider group currently consisting of 3 physicians and 2 NPs. The full-time NP/PA will be joining a comprehensive limb salvage team and will work together with infectious disease, vascular surgery, cardiology, orthopedics, ostomy and general surgery to provide an advanced team-based approach. This provider will see patients in acute inpatient settings, local area rehab/skilled nursing facility settings, and assist the wound care clinic providers with outpatient clinic coverage during PTO at our wound care facility locations. You will receive training and continued support by one of the best wound care physicians in the industry.

Hill Wound Care has staffed provider positions at various locations throughout Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana Missouri and Arkansas since 2005. HWC currently staffs 6 outpatient wound care and hyperbaric clinics in Arkansas and Texas while also providing wound care at various rehab/skilled nursing facilities in both states.

NP/PA Duties and Responsibilities

• Evaluate and treat new patients and follow-up patients for Wound Care services
• Order testing and lab that is needed to evaluate the patient’s wound and underlying conditions
• Interpret all test results ordered
• Diagnosis of patient’s health condition related to the wound and any underlying diagnosis affecting the wound healing process using ICD-10
• Create a Plan of Care for the patients and coordinate with the patients’ health care team
• Communicate with the patients' PCPs and specialists as needed
• Communicate with patients and family members regarding the patients throughout their treatment plans
• Provide referrals to other healthcare providers as needed
• Supervise Hyperbaric Oxygen treatments when covering outpatient provider’s PTO
• Perform advance modalities and procedure as patient care requires. (debridement, grafts, etc.)
• Document services in a timely and accurate manner
• Provide quality care while complying with policies and procedures within your scope of practice

Requirements beyond applicable NP/PA licenses:

• For NPs, Graduated from Acute Care APN Program; Acute Care (ACNP), Adult Gerontology Acute Care (AGACNP), Acute Care Pediatric (CPNP-AC)
• HBO certification. If not currently certified, HWC will pay for course fees and travel expenses, if needed, to attend a wound care and HBO certification course in San Antonio, Texas. HBO certification is required prior to employment to allow supervision of HBO medicine dives while covering provider’s PTO
• Experience working as a NP/PA preferred
• Experience in a healthcare environment preferred
