The Actuarial Analyst will be responsible for providing analytical support and analysis to the actuarial and underwriting departments of the company. The position will serve as a data expert to support actuarial, underwriting, and financial reporting initiatives.
Location:
**Opportunity to work Fully Remote. We are unable to hire or allow employees to work outside of the United States. Must be available to work Monday-Friday, 8am - 5pm Pacific Time.**

COMPENSATION:
In the spirit of pay transparency, we are excited to share the annual base salary for this position is $79,000 - $120,000 exclusive of fringe benefits or potential bonuses. If you are hired at LIBERTY, your final base salary compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and/or experience. In addition to those factors - we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team members as a part of any, final offer. Please keep in mind that the range mentioned above is the full base salary range for the role. Hiring at the maximum of the range would not be typical in order to allow for future & continued salary growth. We also offer a generous compensation and benefits package.

Essential Functions:
- Review and analyze claims, enrollment, and other experience to model and identify potential risks and opportunities.
- Help build underwriting models, including development and maintenance of various underwriting factors, and use these models to calculate appropriate premiums for new and existing groups.
- Support ad-hoc product pricing requests.
- Help create financial projections including IBNR estimates and claims and premium forecasts.
- Build and maintain reporting for executives and other departments.
- Perform ad-hoc reporting to support analysis of utilization, provider contracting rates, group experience, and trends.
- Present data and findings to non-technical audiences, including senior management and C-suite level individuals.
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics, Science, Economics, Statistics or related field
- Must be eligible or in progress of taking actuarial exams administered by the Society of Actuaries (SOA)
- 2+ years' experience in healthcare data analysis, actuarial, or underwriting work
- Dental experience preferred
- ASA certification preferred
Specific Skills/Knowledge:
- Actuarial experience is strongly preferred
- Ability to work on multiple, concurrent tasks
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel
- Ability to develop models in Excel
- Experience with SQL required
- Experience with SAS, R, Python, or other analytic programming languages preferred
- Experience with PowerBI, Tableau, or other data visualization tools preferred
