Part Time Activity Assistant for NHC HealthCare St. Charles

Don't miss this great opportunity for a PART-TIME Activity Assistantto join our team at NHC HealthCare St. Charles in beautiful St. Charles, MO !! Our spacious campus is home to over 100-bed post-acute 24-hour skilled nursing Health Care Center. We are looking to add a new partner who enjoys being around people and strives to promote a positive work environment. We believe in creating a fun and creative environment and the partners we have are our biggest tool to accomplish that goal.

What we're looking for:

• A team player who is trustworthy, dependable and energetic
• Available at least one weekend day
• Comfortable using a computer, specifically Microsoft Word
• Someone who is comfortable being in front of others
• Background working with Dementia patients

Activity Assistant applicants must have a desire to work with seniors, be compassionate and creative. The ideal candidate would also have some knowledge of activity programming in long term care as your goal would be to provide daily meaningful activities that enhance the quality of life for our residents.

Specifically you are responsible for:

• Working with the director to lead wellness activities for Long Term Care, Memory Care and Rehab patients as assigned (This will occasionally include some weekend and/or holiday hours)
• Timely completion of associated data entry and paperwork
• Sharing ideas for celebrations, holidays and parties
• Filling in when the director is absent
• Having fun at work and making sure others do too
• Other duties as assigned

Other important skills are:

• Strong communication and time management
• Ability to be a team player and work with other departments to build staff morale
• Basic typing and computer skills
• Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Publisher specifically for producing monthly calendars and newsletters along with other external and internal marketing material
• 3D printer knowledge
