Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Activities Director to join our team. As an Activities Director, you will be responsible for planning and coordinating engaging activities for our residents in assisted living and memory care settings. Your role will be instrumental in enhancing the quality of life for our senior residents.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a diverse range of activities to meet the physical, social, emotional, and cognitive needs of our residents
- Create a monthly activities calendar that offers a variety of options for residents to participate in
- Coordinate outings, events, and special programs both on-site and off-site
- Collaborate with other staff members to ensure seamless coordination of activities with other departments
- Conduct assessments to determine individual resident preferences and tailor activities accordingly
- Provide one-on-one support to residents who require assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs)
- Offer counseling and support to residents and their families regarding aging issues, dementia care, and memory loss
- Maintain accurate records of resident participation and progress
Experience:
- Previous experience as an Activities Director or similar role in a senior care or assisted living facility
- In-depth knowledge of social work principles and techniques related to aging issues
- Familiarity with dementia care and memory loss management strategies
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with residents, families, and staff members
- Strong organizational skills to manage schedules, coordinate events, and maintain accurate records
- Ability to create a warm and welcoming environment for our senior residents
