We are an independent senior living community looking for an experienced Activities Director to fill current vacancy.
Candidate should have strong skills/knowledge of:
1) Planning and overseeing recreational activities and events for the elderly such as: arts & crafts, music, dance, educational lectures, etc.
2) Creating and leading activities to promote physical and cognitive wellness, social skills, and healthy lifestyles
3) Managing staff and volunteers who assist with activities programming
4) Overseeing budget for activities and events
5) Prepare promotional materials
6) Developing calendars and schedules for activities and events
7) Developing monthly newsletters for internal/external people
8) Work with vendors for outside entertainment bookings; negotiate wage
Mastery of skills required for this position include (but are not limited to): excellent customer service; teamwork and team building skills; ability to multi-task with common interruptions; self-starter; active listening skills; access to community resources for senior needs; food service understanding; skilled in public speaking; organizational skills; mindful of deadlines and experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
Position is for Part Time, but potentially Full-Time in the near future.
Occasional weekends/evenings will be required.
