CHC is licensed by the Illinois Department of Public Health for 67 beds and continues to serve infants and children while being driven by our three core values: compassion, innovation, and holistic care. As our services evolved over the years, there were also many changes within the facility. The increased level of care resulted in the need for additional professional and licensed staff. The new additions to the staff included Respiratory Therapists, Trach Wound Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), Physical Therapists, Certified Occupational Therapist Assistants, a Registered Dietitian, and a Psychologist.

Implementing activities and after-school programs according to the written schedule. Documenting progress and attendance for all activities (both group and individual). Completes documentation daily to ensure the care for all children is excellent. Assist with the completion and implementation of documentation of habilitation plans. Maintains records and prepares requested reports. Complete activity notes by the 10th of each month. Participates in the continuing interdisciplinary evaluation of individual residents' needs. Assures there is written permission given by the resident's physician to participate in the activity program. Implements the activities to coordinate with other departments to ensure communication between all departments to provide uniformity of goals. Participates in transporting students to and from the activities. Assist in the development and implementation of special events. Assist in the coordination of holiday visits from various groups/foundations. Suggest ideas for in-house and community activities. Attends seminars/workshops/ facility/department meetings as necessary.
