Activities Assistant

Denton Nursing & Rehab is seeking a full time Activity Assistant to join our amazing team!! The ideal candidates must have a passion for working with and bringing joy to elderly and dementia residents. Retiree's encouraged to apply. You will help plan and execute events that encourage the cognitive, social, and physical interaction of residents. Events include karaoke, themed parties, crafts, bingo, and other fun activities. These activities are therapeutic and essential to our residents quality of life.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Plan daily activities, both in-house and outdoor excursions (when possible)
• Encourage patients (and occasionally their family members) to participate in events
• Keep the facility calendar updated to ensure there are no scheduling conflicts with other events
• Document patient participation

Responsibilities of Activity Assistant:

• Conducts and/or assists with assignments and assigned activity groups
• One-to-one activities utilizing interpersonal needs to meet resident/client needs
• Provides input and assistance with activity planning
• Escort residents to and from activities
• Projects a positive image of the organization in dealing with residents/clients, co-workers, public

Qualifications of Activity Assistant:

• High School Graduate or GED

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.00 - $16.00 per hour
