Activities Assistant

Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Activity Assistant to join our team. As an Activity Assistant, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for our residents by planning and implementing engaging activities. This position requires strong organizational skills, a passion for working with older adults, and the ability to provide support in an assisted living or nursing home setting.

Schedule: Monday- Friday 10am-3pm

Duties:
- Assist in planning and coordinating recreational activities for residents, including group outings, games, crafts, and exercise programs
- Collaborate with the Activity Director to develop a monthly activity calendar that meets the diverse needs and interests of residents
- Provide one-on-one support to residents who require assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs)
- Engage residents in meaningful conversations and social interactions to promote emotional well-being
- Assist with the coordination of special events and holiday celebrations
- Maintain accurate records of resident participation in activities
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of activity programs and make recommendations for improvement

Skills:
- Experience in event planning or recreational therapy is preferred
- Knowledge of aging issues, dementia care, and assisted living is a plus
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize responsibilities
- Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate and engage with residents, families, and staff members
- Compassionate and patient demeanor when working with older adults
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
- Basic computer skills for record keeping purposes
