Job Objective(s):
Do you want to make a positive difference in the lives of seniors? If so, this is the job for you. As a Life Enrichment Assistant, you are responsible for assisting the Life Enrichment Director in leading a variety of activity programs designed to meet the resident’s social, physical, mental, emotional, and sensory needs. You will mostly be working with residents in our secure memory care.
Qualifications
- Preferred activities experience in independent retirement, assisted living, memory care, adult day services, or long-term care facility serving a senior population. Willing to train individuals with a passion for working with seniors.
- Valid Class C Driver’s License and acceptable driving record.
- You will need to be comfortable taking residents on outings in a 14-passenger bus. Prior experience driving a bus is not required, training will be provided.
- Ability to use basic Windows, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) computer programs.
- Creative and problem-solving skills
- Group leadership and interpersonal skills to lead one on one, small, and large group activities.
- Able to make responsible choices and decisions, and act in a resident’s best interest.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Good work ethic and time management skills.
- Maintains resident confidentiality and HIPPA standards.
- Able to read, write, spell, do basic math, speak, and understand English.
Job Responsibilities and Duties
- Consistently chart in communication log and one-to-one tracking logs.
- Support the development of a monthly Activity Calendar of Events.
- Lead small, large, and one on one activity programs with seniors.
- Accompany residents on field trips as assigned.
- Work cooperatively with assigned volunteers and direct their assignments to support the resident programming.
- Report maintenance needed bus interior and exterior in a timely manner.
- Report maintenance needs in a timely manner.
- Other duties as assigned.
