Acquisition Team Lead

The role of the Acquisition Team Lead will coordinate and lead the contractor team for support related to procurement and acquisition management, supporting the Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Army’s Financial Management and Comptroller (FM&C), Office of Financial Operations and Information (DASA-FO). The Acquisition Team Lead is the primary point of contact (POC) for statuses on acquisition packages and manage the activities and staff under this contract support. This position will be full-time and onsite at the Pentagon, 109 Army Pentagon, Washington, DC 20301.

This position is contingent upon contract award.

PRIMARY JOB DUTIES:

• Provide technical expertise in DoD acquisition management to support DASA-FOI development and improvement efforts.
• Develop strategic plans, facilitate requirements, and contribute to procurement package development and post-award support.
• Utilize skilled personnel with Federal procurement experience, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures.
• Support procurement improvement, consolidate contracts, and integrate industry best practices for efficiency.
• Analyze and recommend improvements in DASA-FOI's procurement, supporting the Acquisition Center of Excellence.
• Maintain records for business operations, support planning/tracking, and respond to ad hoc requests promptly.
• Review pre-award documents for compliance and completeness, ensuring adherence to procurement policies.
• Perform package peer reviews and verify documents in line with funding certification criteria.
• Monitor post-award contract financial management, conduct vendor payment reconciliation, and provide status reporting.
• Manage contract closeouts, including responses to de-obligation requests and tracking of closed-out items.
• Create and maintain records management files for procurement actions, both in progress and closed.
• Develop a procurement requirement tracking methodology in a Government-approved tool, providing weekly updates.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

• Master’s Degree in Business Administration, Contract Law, or Contract Management from an accredited university.
• 10+ years’ experience in DoD IT procurement and acquisition management.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

• Must have excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Microsoft Teams as well as working knowledge of SharePoint.
• Must be self-motivated, proactive, and professional.
• Must be able to manage a heavy workload and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced government environment.
• Must be able to meet or exceed short turnaround deadlines.
• Experience working well with senior management and team members.
• Strong time management, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Excellent communication skills, both orally and in writing.
• Must have and be able to maintain a DoD Secret clearance.
• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Travel to locations may be required, as requested. (Up to 10%)
