Litehouse is seeking a full-time Accounts Receivable Specialist I (Collections) to join our team. This position is open to remote candidates. Candidates in Sandpoint, ID are welcome to work remotely or hybrid depending on personal preference.
This AR Specialist I (Collections) is responsible for resolving questions and issues related to outstanding customer balances and will handle the majority of customer collection inquiries. This position will also analyze financial data and supplemental information, determining selling risks and managing high risk customers accounting for all money received
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES/KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Process and then apply to aging daily cash receipts via desktop deposit, EFT and lock box. Account for all money received and balance cash to the GL; maintain customer acct records and foreign currency rates in ERP system.
- Fully responsible for the Accounts Receivable aging which requires daily collection calls to customers, emailing customers, and talking to sales team to ensure that the cash flow of the company and customers remain consistent. Manage high risk customers that need special monitoring of outstanding balances and current order status. Resolve AR questions or issues, handle majority of customer inquiries, concerns, or credit issues. Ensure that customer terms are being followed and that any customer payment issues are dealt with timely and properly.
- Analyze financial AR trend data such as days to cash, customer repays, and balances over 60 days past due
- Balance AR and aging to the GL at month end close along with working with the GL team on other accruals
- Assist with AR projects, other special projects and annual AR audit
- Cross training within AR team
Qualifications
- Associates degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Previous experience in applying and understanding basic accounting terminology and methodology, and GL systems, journal entry preparation and uploading to the GL.
- Experience in collecting debts from customers.
- Ability to work independently within a team environment while maintaining a level of confidentiality.
- Must have strong verbal and written communications skills with ability to express ideas effectively and efficiently.
- Ability to comprehend and apply knowledge of data collection, data analysis, and evaluation.
- Ability to apply strong organizational, problem-solving and analytical skills to manage priorities and workflow.
- Advanced computer skills to include excellent working knowledge reporting software. MS Excel, Word and Power Point.
- Must be a highly structured, disciplined, organized and motivated individual with keen sense of attention to detail.
