JOB DESCRIPTION
Position Title: Accounts Receivable Clerk
Department: Accounting
Job Classification: Full-time Regular
FLSA: Exempt
Reports to: Business Office Manager
Summary:
Posts customer payments by recording cash, checks, and credit card transactions. Posts revenues by verifying and entering transactions from walk-in customers and deposits. Updates receivables by totaling unpaid invoices. Maintains records by updating invoices, debits, and credits in QuickBooks.
Job Duties/Responsibilities:
· Process account and incoming payments in compliance with financial policies and procedures;
· Perform day to day financial transactions, including verifying, classifying, computing, posting, and recording Accounts Receivables data;
· Preparing bills receivable, invoices, and bank deposits;
· Reconcile the Accounts Receivable ledger to ensure all payments are accounted for and properly posted daily;
· Verify discrepancies by and resolve customers billing issues;
· Facilitate payment of invoices due by sending bill reminders and contacting customers over 30 days past due;
· Generate financial statements and reports detailing Accounts Receivable status;
· Performing administrative and clerical tasks, such as data entry, filing, etc.;
· Perform other duties or assignments as assigned by supervisor.
Skills and Qualifications:
· Proven working experience as Accounts Receivable Clerk;
· Solid understanding of basic accounting principles, fair credit practices, and collection regulations;
· Proven ability to calculate, post, and manage accounting figures and financial records;
· Hands-on experience in operating spreadsheets and accounting software;
· Proficiency MS Office;
· Great customer service orientation, verbal communication, and negotiation skills;
· High degree of accuracy and attention to detail;
· Strong time management and organizational skills;
· Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks.
Work Conditions:
· While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit for prolonged periods, and use computer equipment and cell phones;
· The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands, and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl;
· The employee must be able to lift 30 pounds;
· Occasional travel is required for meetings, events, and errands.

Pay: $16.00 - $24.00 per hour
