Accounts Payable Staff Accountant

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Processes invoices and works closely with vendors to ensure timely payments
• Prepares journal entries, worksheets, reconciliations and other documentation to ensure transactions are recorded in accordance with GAAP and are complete.
• Prepares company projections as assigned.
• Supervises, assists and advises staff, including Accounts Payable, general ledger, and payroll, as assigned.
• Assists in the preparation of federal and state filings.
• Assists with audits by both internal and external auditors.
• Completes special projects and assists other accounting/finance staff as requested.
• Maintains a high degree of confidentiality and provides outstanding guest service while performing assigned duties.
• Perform the duties and responsibilities associated with the Illinois Gaming Board Statewide
• Voluntary Self-Exclusion Program as described in Section A of the Rivers Casino – Des Plaines ICS.
• Other duties may be assigned.

Job Requirements:

• BA in Accounting or related field strongly preferred
• 2 years experience cash-handling experience in casino environment
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Excellent organization and planning skills.
• Excellent knowledge in various computers programs including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.).
• Budget and mathematical skills.
• Ability to successfully fulfill the pre-employment process
• Ability to work flexible shifts and days of the week including holidays
• Ability to obtain and maintain all necessary licensing
• Frequent walking, standing, kneeling, twisting, bending and lifting
