We are seeking a full-time Accounts Payable Specialist in our Olathe, KS location. In this role, you will be responsible for assisting in all aspects of Accounts Payable including weekly payments to vendors, employee expense reimbursements, and matching of invoices.
Responsibilities: Essential Functions
- Assist in processing a large quantity of timely payments to vendors on a weekly basis
- Assist in applying proper tax treatment to invoices
- Understand Chart of Accounts as related to Accounts Payable invoice allocation
- Work closely with other departments (ex. Purchasing, Receiving) to resolve questions and problems
- Perform 2, 3, and 4-way invoice matches and code vendor invoices for Purchase Order (PO) and General Ledger account distribution following proper tax use guidelines
- Investigate issues on received/uncosted reports
- Code employee expense reports and check requests, assist in processing weekly ACH and check payments, print/mail weekly rebate checks, and assist in month-end close
Basic Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Must have completed accounting coursework or possess a minimum of 3 years relevant work experience in Accounts Payable/General Accounting
- Must possess demonstrated proficient computer skills in Microsoft Excel and Word
- Must be positive, detail/quality oriented, analytical, organized, team oriented and a driven problem solver, multi-tasker, and self-starter with the ability to prioritize and be proactive in a fast paced, deadline-driven environment
- Demonstrated strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Previous experience working in a team environment
- Excellent time management skills and ability to accurately process a large volume of payables effectively within a required timeframe, while maintaining accuracy
Desired Qualifications
- Associate’s Degree in Accounting from a two year college or university
- Experience using Oracle applications
