About the Opportunity:
· Job Title:Accounts Payable Clerk
· Pay: $25/Hour
· Location: Vadnais Heights, MN
· Schedule: 1st Shift, Mon-Fri 7AM-3:30PM
Daily functions:
- Maintain custody of the petty cash fund and related records, and replenish funds as required.
- Update vendor master file
- Reconcile open receiving and past due statements from vendors.
- Enter invoices for payment, verify vendor numbers, account numbers and extensions for accuracy. Post invoices to general ledger
- Verify invoices to purchase order to ensure accuracy. Trouble shoot any problems pertaining to invoices.
- Process expense reports, checking for accuracy and required supporting documentation.
- Select invoices for payment, logging and pulling invoices to be paid.
- Prints checks and prepares them for signing and mailing.
- Reconcile travel advances to general ledger.
- Handle vendor calls regarding past due or problem invoices. Reconcile problems with various departments.
- Estimate cash disbursements needed for the credit manager and as disbursements occur, log information into the cash book.
- Perform cash receipt duties and reporting as required.
- Copy foreign vendor invoices for purchasing. File invoices in Accounts Payable file, observing standard filing procedures.
- Run suspended voucher reports daily and distribute them to buyers.
- Enter canceled checks from bank statement.
- Wire transfer funds through bank as needed.
- Move journals to general ledger daily.
- May perform reasonably similar or related duties and reporting as required.
Desired qualifications:
- Perform stationary work 85% of the time using a computer and applicable office equipment
- Move about inside the office and production areas of the building 10% of the time to access files, office equipment and communicate with colleagues Education/Skills/Experience:
- High school diploma
- 2-5 years experience in Accounts Payable processing
- Experience with AP in a MFG setting
- Ability to handle high work load and manage multiple projects
- Computer savvy with proficiency in Microsoft Office and SAP, preferred
- Possess a high degree of interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
Physical requirements:
- Lifting 50lbs
- Standing for long durations of time
- Must be able to bend, stoop, and crouch.
