Supervisor Senior Accountant for Portfolio Management and Construction

Role: Accounting Manager for Portfolio Management and Construction
Reports to: Corporate Controller
Job Type: Full Time
Compensation: $100,000 - $110,000 annually
Location: This position is available for remote work.

SUMMARY --
As the Accounting Manager, you will be responsible for managing the portfolio management and construction accounting teams. You will help with building processes to maximize efficiency. You will be a coach for the construction and property management accounting teams and report directly to the corporate controller.
WHAT YOU’LL DO --
- Team Management: Supervise and mentor the team of accountants. Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture.
- Communicate effectively with co-workers and management about the finances of the business and justify certain financial recommendations.
- Help facilite project management and ensure organization.
- Oversee and direct daily accounting functions to include - general ledger, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and payroll.
- Manage company audits (YE financial, lender collateral, compliance, other).
- Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting and filings.
- Support month-end and year-end close process.
- Maintains financial staff job results by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees, planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.
- Prepare monthly GL and bank reconciliations.
- Provide in depth training for the accounting team.
- Perform related duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS –
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Must have an active CPA.
- 5+ years in the accounting field, preferably in property management or real estate and must have construction accounting experience as well.
- Proven experience in creating accounting processes using efficiency and innovation.
- Ability to lead a team and coach the team as needed.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Proficient in relevant software and tools, including Google Suite and Quickbooks.
