The Accounting Manager plays a pivotal role in overseeing the financial management of our restaurant group. You will be responsible for financial reporting, budgeting, team leadership, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and industry regulations.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES • Manage a team of accountants, accounts payable, and regional office managers. • Mentor the accounting team, fostering their growth and ensuring that financial processes run smoothly. • Ensure compliance with all company, federal, state, and local laws and ethical business practices related to accounting operations and financial reporting. • Maintain the general ledger, reconcile accounts, and ensure accurate recording of all financial transactions • Prepare, deliver, and analyze weekly cash flow statement and make recommendations to maintain and/or improve cash position. • Prepare, deliver, and analyze internal financial statements to various recipients using clear and concise approach. • Monitor and analyze restaurant expenses, food costs, and operational costs to identify areas for cost savings and efficiency improvements. • Assist preparation of annual budget for Restaurant and Real Estate/Aviation divisions. • Oversee inventory management and valuation, including regular physical counts and reconciliations. • Oversee compliance and execution of treasury/bank functions. • Utilize technology to reduce manual processes and improve efficiency in accounting cycle. • Partner with operations teams to identify areas of opportunity with respect to controls and/or spending in the restaurants. • Ensure adherence to local, state, and federal tax regulations, working with external tax advisors when necessary. • Establish and uphold internal controls to protect assets and uphold financial integrity. • Implement strategies to monitor and optimize restaurant expenses, food costs, and operational costs, striving for cost-efficiency. • Manage vendor relationships, negotiate contracts, and streamline procurement processes. • Audit Preparation: Coordinate and prepare for annual financial audits, collaborating with auditors throughout the audit process. • Conduct financial analysis and provide recommendations to improve the financial performance of each restaurant. • Review and approve as necessary journal entry batches, check runs, and outgoing wires. • Other related duties as assigned.
ESSENTIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS Education/Experience: • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics required. CPA certification is a plus. • 2 years minimum experience as an Accounting or Financial Manager, supervising a team of 3 or more
Experience with Restaurant 365 accounting software is required. • Restaurant or hospitality industry experience is a plus Required Skills: • Outstanding accounting and financial analysis skills. • Proven experience as an Accounting Manager or similar role • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and budgeting. • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. • Strong communication and interpersonal skills. • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. • Attention to detail and accuracy. • Knowledge of restaurant management software and point-of-sale systems is a plus. • Strong experience with Restaurant 365 mods. (Bank Recs, AP Capture, Asset Management, DSS) • Utilizes and is familiar with using technological solutions to drive performance and efficiency. • Strong organizational, communication and time management skills. • Ability to interact with various departmental managers and work towards achieving common corporate goals and objectives. • Ability to create, understand, and execute policies and procedures. Travel Requirements: • Minimal/occasional local travel when considered necessary.
