POSITION TITLE: ACCOUNTING MANAGER
The candidate will be capable of getting involved in the details as needed to ensure strong financial health of the organization as well as ensure reported results comply with GAAP. The successful candidate will assume the immediate challenges of financial reporting and budget oversight.
Essential Job Functions
Oversee the accounting operations including accounts receivable/payable, cost accounting, bank reconciliations, inventory, general ledger, and delivery of financial statements.
Manage month-end and year-end close processes, and general ledger reconciliations promptly.
Provide and ensure timely completion of all financial reporting.
Prepare annual budget and manage actual vs budget.
Ensure that all federal, state, and local tax returns are prepared and filed, including sales and use tax returns.
Work with Engineering, Production and Purchasing to ensure product costs are up to date.
Coordinates the provision of information to internal and external audits.
Manage and mentor accounting staff.
Maintain business software data integrity.
Analyze accounting data to assist team mangers in operational performance improvements.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree (B.A./B.S.) from four-year college or university
7 years of related experience
A hands-on, lead-by example style of management
Excellent people skills and a great Team player
Strong knowledge of GAAP
Experience with financial reporting
MS Excel (including pivot tables and advanced formulas)
Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems
