About the Opportunity
The Accounting Manager, Revenue is responsible for leading the U.S. Accounts Receivables function within the Driscoll's of the Americas business unit. In a fast paced and highly collaborative environment, this role will be responsible for leading the Accounts Receivable function, adherence to revenue recognition principles, ensuring accurate and timely invoicing of customers as well as oversight of the Credit and Collections activities. This role will act as the Accounts Receivables lead for the controllership function during the monthly close, year-end close processes and audit. In addition, the Accounting Manager is responsible for ensuring adherence to US GAAP and Driscoll's Accounting policies as well as monitoring and designing Internal Controls.
Responsibilities
• Accountable for timely and accurate invoicing to customers and cash application.
• Leads and provides direction to the Accounts Receivables team on all aspects of their responsibilities.
• Provides leadership and guidance to the Credit and Collections Manager and function, ensuring timely collection of payments, resolution of overdue receivables and proper enforcement of credit policies.
• Accountable for revenue recognition policies and adherence to US GAAP accounting principles
• Accountable for understanding all the workflows within and outside the core ERP, as well as the integrations between sales platforms and our core ERP.
• Monitors the invoicing processes and works to quickly resolve any system issues in collaboration with the IS and Sales departments.
• Ensures alignment between Sales, Accounts Receivables and Credit & Collections processes.
• Develops departmental plans and sets priorities for the teams and individuals.
• Manages the monthly financial close process, including ensuring all revenue and AR is properly recorded, reviewing journal entries, account balance reconciliations and preparing report & analysis.
• Supports Accounting and Finance objectives, while constantly working towards improving processes and procedures.
• Establishes internal controls and ensures adherence to guidelines for accounting transactions.
• Oversees the production of periodic financial reports; ensures that the reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles or and company policies.
• Partners with Sales and IS functions to execute key strategic projects.
• Acts as the primary Accounts Receivables point of contact for Sales leadership and IS.
• Leads the ongoing development/establishment of accounting policies and procedures and operational strategies including the review and implementation of process and system changes.
• Contributes to the Business Unit's people priorities and objectives regarding: people leader effectiveness, engaged employees, and enabling others to perform.
• Represents Driscoll's in an ethical and business-like professional manner in all interactions with growers, co-workers, suppliers, customers and the business community at large.
In addition to the functional responsibilities of the role, as a Driscoll's people manager, you will accomplish work individually and through others while delivering on functional accountabilities connected to the employee lifecycle, including:
• Workforce Planning: Aligning the people plan to the business plan
• Hiring: Find, evaluate, and hire new team members
• Onboarding: Integrating new employees into the organization
• Managing: Organize and coordinate activities of a team in order to achieve defined strategic objectives
• Development: Partnering with your employees to create a plan to grow in their existing or potential future roles
• Employee Safety: Ensure both physical and psychological safety in the workplace
• Off-boarding: Ending an employment relationship
Candidate Profile
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 7+ years of finance experience. The successful candidate will have broad-based accounting experience.
• Accounts Receivable and Credit & Collections experience preferred.
• Excellent communication and influencing skills are vital for success in this role. It requires the ability to establish credibility, build constructive relationships and impact cross-functionally at all levels in the organization. It also requires the ability to synthesize, simplify and present complex information and concepts to non-financial audiences.
• Developed financial and business analytical skills and attention to detail are required; to understand and interpret business results and plans.
• The ability to work independently and proactively.
• Must be knowledgeable in standard business software (MS Office, ERPs) to at least an intermediate level, and with the aptitude to quickly become an advanced user. Microsoft Dynamics and SAP experience preferred. Requires knowledge of business intelligence system.
• Bilingual; English/Spanish communication skills desired
• Process improvement experience is a plus
• Occasional evening and weekend work may be required
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally required (Estimated up to 10%)
• California driver's license and the ability to be covered under company-sponsored vehicle insurance program are also required
• A valid passport and the ability to travel internationally without restrictions are also required
Compensation & Benefits:
