Accounting Manager
Hiring Range: $67,662 -$83,346
This is a full-time position at our Almira Campus in Bremerton, WA.

General Summary of Duties: The Accounting Manager will manage and supervise accounting activities in a manner that maximizes efficiency, accuracy, and compliance with department procedures, as well as federal and state regulations. The Accounting Manager will support the Director of Finance and function in a manner that delivers support and services to all KMHS programs and contracts. Focus on improving the operations of KMHS in support of its stated mission to internal and external customers.
Supervisory Responsibilities: Accounting Department Staff
Major Responsibilities/Tasks:
- Oversee all accounting functions. Keep staff informed of changes within the agency. Provide support and training to ensure the highest level of accuracy and efficiency are achieved.
- Develop, implement, and maintain appropriate internal control system and recording systems to ensure that KMHS meets all auditing and funding requirements.
- Submitting reports to the relevant department heads and management
- Work with the Director of Finance to review and establish systems to manage agency contracts and maximize revenues and contract compliance. Monitor contract compliance, including monitoring and reviewing respective reports and billings to funding sources. Advise the Director of any potential problems or noncompliance.
- Complete month-end closing and reconciliation processes. Assist in preparing timely agency financial reports for the Board of Directors, administration, and respective program managers.
- Work with the Director of Finance to gather, analyze, and interpret data from Multiview, UKG, and Credible
- Inspecting accounting records and systems to ensure efficient allocation reporting
- Create, monitor, and post accruals and journal entries
- Document workflow, procedures, checklists, and policies for assigned tasks
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of accounting, purchasing, and related I.S. advancements.
- Facilitate the completion of the agency's annual insurance renewal application process
- Assure completion of all agency tax reports and filing. Supervise or generate annual W-2s and 1099's.
- Recruit, hire, and develop qualified staff including ongoing coaching and conducting performance appraisals. As well as promote positive office environment by facilitating a suitable response to problems and honest internal communications.

Minimum Qualifications:
EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
EXPERIENCE: Intermediate (minimum 3 years of job-related experience)
- Ability to utilize independent judgment in establishing the accuracy and reasonableness of the information
- Proven ability to prioritize, undertake multiple priorities concurrently, and consistently meet deadlines and timelines.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective working relationships across all levels of the organization. Ability to share knowledge and information at different levels of the organization
- Show initiative and a willingness to learn all aspects of the organization.
Preferred Qualifications:
EXPERIENCE: Specialist (minimum 5 years of job-related experience)
Performance Requirements:
KNOWLEDGE:
- Demonstrated knowledge of the interaction of complex cost drivers. Critical thinking to make decisions and solve problems.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, internal controls, and financial reporting is required.
SKILLS:
- Advanced-level MS Excel and MS Office applications
- Must have strong research/problem-solving skills and data-driven analytical experience
- Must possess strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
