Accounting Manager

Venture Lighting International, Inc. is looking for an experienced Accounting Manager to join our finance team in Solon, Ohio. The Accounting Manager will oversee all accounting and finance functions for the business.
Essential Functions:
Management and Controls
Ensure accurate and timely month-end and year-end close processes, including balance sheet reconciliations and support of external auditors.
Oversee daily accounting operations, including vendor payments and customer collections.
Produce financial statements through the local ERP and load financial results into Hyperion Financial Management.
Develop and implement ideas to improve efficiencies and to eliminate non-value-added procedures and activities.
Maintain and enforce a documented system of controls.
Reporting and Analysis
Analyze monthly operating results including sales, gross margins, and inventory levels to provide management with data for decision making purposes.
Assist in the preparation of the annual budget and quarterly forecasts, including balance sheet and cash flow forecasting.
Work with management to improve results.
Additional duties assigned as required.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) for financial statement reporting.
Proven record in performing month-end duties in a manufacturing or distribution environment.
Understanding of ERP systems in manufacturing or distribution environments, including the proven ability to develop and analyze standard costs and variances.
Strong listening and judgement skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office, with advanced Excel skills.
Strong time management, follow-up and organizational skills.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance with five to seven years' experience as a Staff Accountant, Financial Analyst or Accounting Manager.
Prior experience with a corporate reporting structure and international operations a plus.
Experience with Hyperion Financial Management a plus.
