PRIMARY DUTY: Perform professional accounting work including general Accounting and
budgeting, and finance-oriented functions.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Accounting Ledger - Maintain accounting ledger based on fund accounting, post various financial transactions, monitor balances, and complete related reconciliations for cash, assets, liabilities, and expenses
2. General Accounting Processes - Perform periodic accounting work in a variety of day-to-day operational activities including bank reconciliation, credit card reconciliation, preparation of journal entries, payroll processing, and maintain fixed asset and depreciation records and controls
3. Accounting Policies and Procedures - Monitor expense reports for compliance with University expense procedures, assist in preparing for fiscal year end, perform reviews of tax compliance issues, and perform special projects and analyses as needed
4. Cross train to back-up AP check processing
5. Perform other duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS:
Education: Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related business field OR 3 years of experience in accounting work
Experience: 1-3 years of related experience
Skills: computer; spreadsheet software; detail oriented with a high degree of accuracy,
understanding of accounting principles; independent thinking; good interpersonal skills;
cooperative; able to positively interact with others
WORKING CONDITIONS: Air-conditioned office with regular hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday; and occasional evening and weekend hours dependent upon project deadlines
EQUIPMENT/MATERIALS USED: Personal computer with appropriate software applications, 10 key calculator, multi-line phone, copy machine
TYPICALPHYSICAL DEMANDS: Ability to lift up to 20 lbs
