Job Overview
The Accounting Manager is responsible for the accuracy and integrity of daily accounting transactions performed by his or her direct reports including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Billing, Payroll and Administrative Support. The position performs all sales/use tax and payroll returns for multiple states. The position provides direction and guidance to RMS employees regarding accounting information along with preparing monthly and ad hoc reporting for their use. This position will adhere to all policies, procedures and guidelines established by Rasmussen Mechanical Services on a corporate basis. This position will require the candidate to put in the time necessary to complete duties and handle demands of the department and company as needed.
Responsibilities

• Manage and backup all accounting transactional and administrative staff.
• Prepare and submit monthly union reporting and contributions.
• Prepare and submit monthly, quarterly & annual sales/use tax returns.
• Prepare and submit monthly, quarterly & annual payroll tax returns.
• Prepare a variety of reports on a monthly or ad hoc basis.
• Renew and manage all company master contractor licenses.
• Perform various cash management tasks and reconciliations.
• Provide direction and guidance to RMS employees on accounting questions.
• Support the Management of Rasmussen Mechanical Services and act as a resource in gathering information, researching issues, etc.

Experience

• Five plus years of qualified experience in all aspects of transactional Accounting including AP, AR, Billing, Payroll including Taxes, Sales/Use Taxes, General Ledger, etc. BSBA in Accounting preferred.

Physical & Mental Requirements

• Must be able to lift 25-30 lbs. Must be able to sit for long periods of time and operate business equipment.
• Must be able to read / hear / write / spell / type and speak English clearly. Must be able to understand and follow written instructions, communicate effectively orally and written, and must be able to listen effectively.
• Must pass pre-employment drug screen.
