Job Description:
The Accounting Manager oversees the Accounting department, providing information, primarily financial in nature, about all company activities that will assist management in making educated economic decisions about the company's future.
Responsibilities include:
- Provide leadership, direction, and administration for the accounting organization.
- Manage and supervise daily operations and performance of accounting. Ensure a sound system of internal assurances and controls for the department.
- Analyze and review financial data, prepare financial statements and reports for both internal and external purposes, and provide resolution to a diverse range of problems.
- Produce periodic financial reports including, but not limited to, weekly scorecard, monthly financials, profitability and AR/AP reporting, WIP reporting, EOY financials. Ensure reliability and integrity of financial reporting.
- Maintain a system of accounting records, and a comprehensive set of controls and budgets designed to mitigate risk and enhance the accuracy of the company's reported financial results.
- Manage monthly financial close, ensuring that all tasks are completed in accordance with established deadlines.
- Manage software (QuickBooks) including, updates, training, users and permissions.
- Assist external accounting firm in preparation of yearly tax returns.
- Ensure that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles.
- Oversee Accounting Dept personnel: AP, AR and Billing Specialists.
- Train, hire, and review accounting department personnel.
- Be responsible for AP to ensure accurate vendor records and timely vendor payments.
- Be responsible for the activities of AR to ensure the accurate and timely management of all aging components including billings, cash receipts application, etc.
- Be responsible for the effective management of AR to minimize the risk of extending credit and to generate and establish sufficient cash flow base.
- Ensure all customer disputes and requests for clarification is resolved and/or responded to in a timely manner.
- Maintain chart of accounts and business unit structure.
- Ensure an effective tracking system for all credits/adjustments
- Oversee monthly contract billing to customers
- Oversee all customer portals accounting functions
- Monitors company credit including loans, bank line of credit, credit cards, etc.
- Protects assets by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing internal controls.
- Develop working yearly budgets for each business unit
- Any other tasks identified by the CEO/COO.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $110,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
