Description:Hartzell Engine Tech is a leading OEM supplier and aerospace technology company headquartered in Montgomery, Alabama, with additional locations across the US and Canada, that provides engine accessories and heating solutions that meet the demanding challenges of today's aircraft systems. As a world leader in aircraft exhaust systems and engine mounts, the company's core competencies include certified welding, precision machining and sheet metal fabrication.Hartzell seeks an Accounting Manager who will be responsible to collaborate with the Controller and support the Finance team to monitor financial results, perform financial reporting, general and cost accounting, budgeting and other key projects to drive business results.Key Deliverables1) Support the development of timely, accurate, and well supported GAAP financial statements. 2) Regularly analyze financial results for budget variances and support the development and implementation of cost cutting initiatives.3) Coordinate required info for the external audit and serve as one of the primary internal contacts during the audit fieldwork.4) Support the month and year-end close process5) Monitor trends and develop assumptions on operational and financial data6) Manage customer credit terms and monitor credit risk exposureFirst Year Success Factors1) Develop a comprehensive understanding of the business and financial systems, tools, and metrics utilized at Hartzell.2) Maintain the existing high standard of execution expressed by generating timely and accurate financial statements, monitoring critical metrics such as DSO, Inventory turns, etc.3) Support the annual budget processRequirements:Required Education and ExperienceBachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance with a minimum of 3- 5 years of progressive financial experience with exposure to manufacturing. CMA or CPA is preferred but not required.Required Technical Competencies1. Exposure and Strength in the following areas:a. Financial and Operations analysis skills & financial modeling - ability to frame questions, gather and organize data, and challenge outputs to arrive at business intelligence (turn data into information) in a fast-paced environmentb. Budgeting and Financial Management - ability to create a budget and analyze the resultsc. General Accounting skills and working knowledge of GAAP2. Proficient Computer Skills - MS Officea. Advanced Excel Functionsi. Pivot Tables, Formulas, Macros, etc.b. ERP or similar business systems exposure3.
