Creative Sound and Lighting (CSL) is a full service event production and consulting company based in central NC. Our goal is to provide our clients with an experience where they can see the vision for their event brought to life through technical and logistical production support. We have some of the most talented and skilled professionals already on our team and always looking to grow. We are looking for someone in this position who understands accounting, finances and can create an organized system of records, documentation, and processes as we continue to grow.
I. Position –Accounting Manager
Working schedule
Routine business tasks are Monday – Friday 8:30am to 5pm, and outside of normal operating hours as necessary. This “Account Manager” position is a salary based position without defined working hours, but estimated to be around 14-18 hours per week. Working remote is intended for this position, however there may be rare instances when traveling to the home office or other meeting places could be required.
Responsibilities
- Manage accounts receivable and payable
- Working with home office to ensure mailed checks are deposited, reviewing open invoices to send statements, keeping track of wire deposits
- Interact with and build relationships/familiarization with clients to know who to send statements/invoices
- Collection and an organizational system for tracking vendors 1099s
- Regular bookkeeping and account reconciliation
- Review of employees receipts for credit card expense matching and recording
- *Currently using AMEX receipt match which doesn’t work well from administrative perspective, could require a switch in how this is managed*
- Mange business property tax listings and depreciation of assets
- Monthly sales and use tax filing, with future potential growth into multistate submission
- Provide owners & CPA with up-to-date profit and loss statements
- Submission and review for accuracy of monthly, quarterly, and yearly federal and state tax forms. (W3, W2, 1096, NCUI101, etc)
- Financial document preparation for CPA to file tax return, filing the 1099 we receive
- Submit financial documents for audits as needed
- Developing and implementing forms/system for collecting payment info (CC authorization, state ID copy) before customers without terms rent equipment; ensuring billing info is correct
- Comply with federal, state, and local financial legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, adhering to requirements, and advising management on needed actions.
- Research areas of improvement and report to owners suggestions (IE, switching from BOA to Pinnacle, new receipt tracking software, etc)
- Scheduling and meeting with CPA as needed (historically it’s been once a month)
- Instructional document creation for tasks of your duties in the event of any absence
- Be the POC for internal communication and direct information to other departments/ staff as needed
- Answering calls regarding accounting and making/receiving payments during regular business hours
- Documentation and record keeping of any company related account usernames and passwords
- Backing up our database of accounting in the event of failure
- Perform tasks outside of regular business hours if required to complete time sensitive tasks
- Keeping financial information confidential
- This is a new position. Requirements and duties will be revised as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- **CONFIDENTIALITY** - This position provides access to financial information that is to remain confidential. Any release of financial information in any form to anyone not approved by your supervisor can result in immediate termination.

- Ability to learn current rental management software such as Flex - Browse/update clients, basic review of quotes, creative invoices, compare discrepancies between QB and Flex, etc
- Strong leadership and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to manage and develop a team
- Flexible schedule that may require work on weekends and outside of the typical 9:00 am - 5:00pm.
Physical demands
- Ability to work more than 8 hours in a single shift
- Must be able to lift to 40 pounds.
- Must be able to communicate effectively by listening and in both written and verbal forms.
Travel Requirements
- Travel required as needed both locally or nationally, unlikely given the accounting position but in cases of training, meetings, etc.
- Driver’s license required
Employment Relationship
Your employment with Creative Sound and Lighting (CSL) will be “at will,” meaning that either you or CSL may terminate your employment at any time and for any reason, with or without cause. Any contrary representations that may have been made to you are superseded by this letter agreement. This is the full and complete agreement between you and CSL on this term. Although your job duties, title, compensation and benefits, as well as CSL’s personnel policies and procedures, may change from time to time, the “at will” nature of your employment may only be changed in an express written agreement signed by you and a duly authorized officer of the Company (other than you.)
II. Cash Compensation
Salary
Starting salary will be at the rate of $21,000 per year, payable in accordance with the CSL’s standard biweekly payroll schedule.

Vacation policy
You will be eligible for 7 days of paid vacation/sick leave per year. Paid time off is additional to days that the company does not operate.
8 Paid Holidays (New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, July 4, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Years Eve) – NOTE: as a Production company, we cannot guarantee these dates off but do our best to observe them as noted in the employee handbook. Worked holidays may be rescheduled as sick or vacation days.
Private health insurance plan
CSL will match 50% of company offered health insurance plan up to an amount of $3500 annually. STD, LTD, and Life are provided at no cost to employee. Dental and vision group rates are offered to employees under the companies Section 125 Cafeteria Plan.
