Accounting Manager

BHS Corrugated is seeking an Accounting Managerto join our growing team in our Knoxville, TN facility!
Summary
The Accounting Manager will be responsible for the overall management and supervision of the accounting department. This includes overseeing the work for accountants, reviewing financial statements, establishing, and maintaining controls, and preparing reports for upper management. This is a hybrid position requiring 0-10% travel.
Responsibilities

• Managing and overseeing the daily operations of the accounting department.
• Establish and Monitor Financial Schedules by creating, implementing, and evaluating financial systems within the organization for financial accuracy and controls.
• Meet Financial Reporting Objectives by overseeing the accounting department functions, coordinating with Financial Analysts, with a focus on ensuring the timely and accurate delivery and submission of financial statements and reporting.
• Achieve Operational Objectives by developing action plans, audit operations, and propose efficiency improvements, coordinating with other operational groups when required.
• Ensuring the companies' financial wellbeing by tracking revenue and expenses, consolidating, and analyzing financial data, preparing special reports, maintaining internal controls and other best practices.
• Establishing and enforcing proper accounting methods, policies, and principles.
• Hiring, training, and motivating accounting staff members while supervising and delegating department tasks.
• Coordinate and complete annual audits to meet global delivery dates.
• Assists with other departmental tasks, projects, and participates in required onsite training as needed.

Requirements

• Educational and experience - Minimum bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or another related field. 5 years or more management experience. SAP, SAGE, and Thomas Reuters ONESORCE software a plus.
• Analytical skills – Critically evaluate the information gathered from multiple sources, decompose high-level information into detail and distinguish requirements from ideas.
• Organizational skills – Order the information gathered during discussions and analysis and to cope with rapidly changing information.
• Communication and Interpersonal skills – Excellent verbal and written skills, to communicate information effectively to multiple levels ranging from Management to end user.  Strong interviewing and facilitations skills, to meet with individuals and groups about their needs, asking the right questions, understand what is said and identify gaps.  Negotiate priorities and resolve issues among stakeholders.
• Soft skills - Must be self – motivated, organized and be able to work independently and as part of a team in an agile environment.
• Physical requirements – must be able to work at computer for 8 hours a day and have the ability to lift up to 20 pounds.
