Job DescriptionOperations & Technology (O&T) is a $1.5B operating cash flow ($2.0B FCF) division of NBCUniversal. The group functions as a global shared service within NBCUniversal performing critical functions including Media, Broadcast and Studio Operations & Production, Information Technology and Engineering, as well as Cyber Security. The group operates from numerous locations around the world, including New York, New Jersey, Los Angeles, Atlanta, and London. O&T is the backbone of businesses like Telemundo, Universal Studios (Film and TV Production), Rockefeller Center, and our new Assembly Studios in Atlanta.
The Accounting Manager is an integral part of the New York and LA-based Operations & Technology (O&T) Accounting team, reporting to the Director of Accounting. The position requires strong leadership, communication, and analysis with the ability to collaborate with the O&T functions and NBCUniversal’s various business units across multiple locations.
Responsibilities
- Streamline and drive process improvements across functions and geographical locations, including our newly operational Assembly Studio facility in Atlanta
- Work in partnership with the Accounting Director and finance department leads to integrate and implement accounting practices for newly purchased and/or newly developed locations and entities such as our new employee spaces on the Universal Studio lot in Los Angeles
- Own and review activities performed by the Global Finance Operations team including driving process improvements
- Manage the analysis and review of both operating and financing leases across the east and west coasts in accordance with ASC 842 and collaborate with the Corporate Accounting team to drive global operational efficiencies
- Assist in the preparation and presentation of the quarterly Balance Sheet review package to the O&T CFO, VP Controller, and Corporate Accounting
- Review new and active contracts across all O&T functions and locations to prepare Corporate reporting for proper financial statement presentation
- Own the monthly and quarterly close status tracking and comparative period financial analysis for regular updates to the O&T VP, Controller
- Assist in the preparation and review of journal entries including but not limited to intracompany activities between NBCU-owned businesses and intercompany activities with Comcast-owned businesses both domestic and abroad
- Review monthly account reconciliations in accordance with NBCU Account Reconciliation policy
- Perform ad hoc technical accounting research and assist in providing technical guidance to business units to implement new standards as necessary
- Exhibit O&T’s leadership principles, and ensure that the operations remain focused on reliability, availability, productivity, growth, and security
- Must be 18 years or older
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience
- Strong Microsoft Suite skills are essential; including intermediate or advanced Excel skills such as formulas, pivot tables, and v-lookups
- CPA preferred

- Ability to work and communicate effectively and consistently with all levels of finance, operations, and senior management
- Demonstrate background and knowledge of US GAAP and SOX
- Excellent time management and organizational skills, ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent attention to detail and willingness to take initiative as a self-starter
- Team player who exhibits a positive and professional attitude
- Experience with SAP/AOE/BPC or other financial systems preferred
Additional:
- Must be willing to work in Universal City, CA or New York City, NY
- Must be willing to work overtime when required
- Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States
- This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week
