SalarySparrow Company, an executive search and staffing firm, has an immediate opening for an Accounting Clerk for one of our clients in El Paso, TX. This is a temporary to hire opportunity.
Job Summary: Responsible for the bookkeeping functions associated with reconciliations of all custodial and corporate accounts. Reconciles credit report charges and maintains an organized filing system for all accounting documents. Processes and verifies all check requests and ensures for accuracy.
Key Tasks andResponsibilities:
- Reconciles general ledger account with various registers
- Reconcile bank statements
- Reconciles credit report charge
- Maintain an organized filing system for all accounting documents (by scanning daily summaries, checks and other accounting documentation)
- Processes check requests for all departments; ensures requests are being made from correct account and records them in appropriate register
- Complete Journal entries
- Processes stop payments and researches all check inquiries
Job Requirements
- Basic understanding of accounting concepts such as following calculations, posting and verifying financial data for use in maintaining accounting records.
- Ability to type vouchers, checks, reports and other records
- Ability to compile and sort documents, such as invoices and checks, substantiating business transactions
- Proficient with Microsoft Office, especially Excel
- Experience in working with computer software
- Ability prioritize and to multi-task
- Eye for detail, accuracy is imperative
- Able to meet deadlines
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Excellent organizational and analytical skills
- Ability to be an effective team member and display initiative
