The Accounting Associate will be responsible for providing support to the Accounting Manager with accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, assisting with month end close, compiling data for and entry of journal entries, basic reconciliation of assigned accounts.
Responsibilities
- Maintain AR aging and follow up with customers on any past due invoices.
- Reconcile cash collections with related invoices.
- Communicate issues proactively with relevant parties.
- Act as a main contact point with collection agencies.
- Build and maintain company policies and procedures related to collections.
- Suggest process improvements, credit management methods.
- Support audit requests relating to accounts receivable.
- Act as a backup for Accounts Payable and Treasury functions.
- Prepared bank deposits and processed all incoming payments.
- Managed accounts to ensure timely and accurate processing of daily invoices to the appropriate G/L account.
- Updated commission master reports monthly to ensure accurate commissions are being paid
- Weekly and monthly internal audit for any missed invoices/payments from vendors and customers
- Reviewed and processed employee expense reimbursements and corporate credit card expenses
- Completed bank reconciliations on a monthly basis
- Provided support for weekly, monthly, and yearly financial reports
- Followed up with customers and vendors by provided weekly AR Aging and AP Aging reports
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in Accounting, Business or related field
- 5+ years of accounts receivable and accounts payable experience
- Knowledge of the end-to-end accounts receivable process
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
- Solid organizational skills with ability to manage multiple projects
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Experience with NetSuite/SAP or other ERP software
