CRG is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Accounting Associate to join our finance & HR team. The Accounting Associate will play a critical role in maintaining the financial health of CRG by managing payroll and payroll-related employee deductions, as well as supporting the accounting and HR teams with various reporting, reconciling, and AR/AP processing tasks. The ideal candidate should demonstrate experience working with Federal contractors, UNANET and ideally QuickBooks. Familiarity with Government invoice processing systems is also a plus.
Responsibilities:
- Payroll processing, including bonus and salary adjustments
- Timely and accurate processing of payroll related items including workers comp, benefits, and other deductions
- Processing of employee and employer payroll taxes & liabilities
- Ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations
- Managing employee time sheet collection, categorization, and processing
- Managing employee expense reimbursements, coordinate the intake process while ensuring compliance with company guidelines and recording necessary transactions
- Supporting the Accounting team in relation to AR collections, various bank and credit card reconciliations, and other ad hoc accounting related requests
- Supporting the Accounting team with AR/AP processing, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timely payments in both CRG’s accounting system and various other Government invoice processing systems
- Assisting with potential audit work, providing required financial information and documentation as necessary
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree (preferably in Finance, Accounting, or a related field)
- Proven experience (2-4 years) in the government contracting industry in HR, payroll, and accounting or related roles
- Proficiency in financial software, payroll and ERP systems. Experience with Excel, and Unanet a must. QuickBooks experience desired
- Understanding of Government contracting including compliance with the FAR, DCAA Compliance, and indirect rates
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with acute attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present financial information clearly and effectively
- Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Discretion in handling confidential financial information
