Introduction:The Maryland Public Service Commission (“MDPSC”) Office of General Counsel seeks a full-time Attorney to provide legal and policy advice to the Commission on a wide array of matters related to the regulation of gas, electric, transportation, telecommunications and other industries.
Position Duties:
Excellent writing, verbal, and communications skills are required to perform the duties of this position, which include:
- Providing analysis, advice and support to the Commission on matters pending before it and on matters before
- other State and federal regulatory agencies;
- Reviewing, evaluating and providing analysis of applications, transactional documents, testimony and
- pleadings submitted to the Commission;
- Preparing draft Commission orders;
- Providing oral and written briefings on matters of interest to the Commission;
- Litigating cases in State and federal courts, and appearing before federal regulatory agencies.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education: A Juris Doctorate degree or equivalent degree from an ABA-accredited school of law.
Experience: Five years of legal experience.
Licenses, Registrations and Certifications
