- Directly responsible for auditing and preparing the morning transmittal reports for both Business Travel and Accounts Payable. Auditing and approving travel authorizations and expense reports in Stratus.
- Assist faculty, staff, and students with booking travel arrangements. Responsible for educating and enforcing policies and procedures regarding travel and accounts payable by making sure you maximize employee travel compliance, avoid unnecessary spending and all AP processes are completed timely and accurately. As a BTO Diners card holder all charges and credits must be reconciled along with investigating any discrepancies.
- Assist Accounts Payable with researching and resolving various vendor and payment issues. Provide excellent customer service by supporting inquiries by phone, email and in person.
- Administer policies set by the University, University System of Maryland, and the State of Maryland.
Qualifications and Skills
- High School Diploma or equivalent and four years of accounting clerical experience; customer service experience and/or cash handling and payment processing experience.
- Advanced knowledge of bookkeeping principals and accounting standards. Exercise attention to detail in reviewing financial documents and reconciling financial data. The ability and skill to input data accurately and efficiently into financial and spreadsheet software. Ability to effectively communicate both in writing and verbally. Provide excellent customer service in a fast-paced environment. Must be able to multi-task and have strong organizational skills. The ability to understand and administer policies set by the University, University System of Maryland, and the State of Maryland. The ability to understand privacy laws and audit requirements placed on the daily function of the position.
Preference
- Experience in a University setting, with proficiency in Microsoft Office, Oracle and Image Now strongly preferred.
Except for qualifications established by law, additional related experience, and formal education in which one has gained the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for full performance of the work of the job class may be substituted for the education or experience requirement on a year-for-year basis with 30 college credits being equivalent to one year of experience.
