Accounting Assistant (Part Time )

JOB SUMMARY

Under the supervision of the Controller, the Accounting Assistant/Clerk will support the accounting department with a variety of administrative and entry level accounting tasks.

This temporary/part-time position is available immediately and may last up to 6 months. The work schedule is flexible and will be agreed upon based on the employee’s availability and business needs. This is not a remote position and requires work in the office.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma or GED.
• Prior work experience within the accounting function.
• Basic understanding of accounting and financial principles.
• Strong computer skills utilizing Word and Excel.
• Must be detailed and organized with excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to work independently and within a team.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Must be able to successfully complete the company’s pre-employment process including a criminal background check, drug test and post-offer basic physical.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Associate Degree in accounting or currently pursuing a degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
• Experience using Sage 100 software.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Perform general accounting and administrative duties including research, filing, data entry, and record keeping.
• Provide support in accounts payable, receivable, payroll and other accounting functions.
• Assist with accounting entries.
• Support month-end closing processes.
• Assist with reconciliations and invoice handling.
• Contribute to ad hoc accounting projects as needed.
