Accounting Assistant-ACH
Purpose:
Responsible for processing returned deposit checks and other duties as assigned by the AVP Controller.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Process returned deposit checks. Reconcile associated general ledger accounts.
- Reconcile various general ledger accounts daily associated with branch operations to include TCRs, Vault Cash, Visa Cash Advances and Western Unions.
- Balance the VISA gift card GL account daily.
- Balance the Utility Waiver Payable GL account weekly and reconcile monthly.
- Balance weekly the Check Charges GL account.
- Process collection department loan add-ons related to repossessed vehicles.
- Approve domestic/international wire transfers.
- Reconcile/review assigned GL balances monthly.
Other Duties and Responsibilities:
- Act as a backup to processing domestic/international wire transfers
- Must comply with the Federal Bank Secrecy Act, Anti-Money Laundering & Customer Identification Policy (BSA), the OFAC Policy and the Identity Theft Policy.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Education and Training:
- High School Diploma
- On an annual basis is required to complete mandatory Bank Secrecy Act, OFAC and Red Flag Identity Theft training.
Prior Experience:
- 1-3 years similar or related experience.
Interpersonal Skills:
Work normally involves contacts with persons beyond immediate associates generally regarding routine matters for purposes of giving or obtaining information which may require some discussion. Outside contacts take the form of service to the public (members or vendors) requiring courtesy in providing assistance and information.
Other Special Skills and Abilities:
- Strong proficiency in all Microsoft applications including WORD, Excel and Outlook.
- Good organizational and time management abilities.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to multi-task.
- Ability to utilize a variety of office equipment including phones, faxes, scanners, copiers and shredders.
Physical Demands:
The need for physical stamina is low to moderate.
Working Conditions:
Minimal adverse working conditions. Some fluctuations in temperature experienced in office setting. May need to work beyond normal working hours, pending organization needs.
