Accounting Assistant

$2,500 Signing Bonus*

AFC is seeking a motivated on-site Accounting Assistant to join our team. As an Accounting Assistant, you will perform general accounts payable duties to include recording and setting up for the payment of all invoices, in accordance with company and established accounting policies and procedures.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• “Voucher” all invoices.
• Track all authorizations for expenditures.
• Perform all accounts payable duties associated with month-end closing procedures to include vouchering all invoices, reviewing and printing accrual and accounts payable trial balance reports, reconciling accrual and accounts payable trial balance reports to the general ledger inter-company account, review vouchers payable report, providing a list of outstanding invoices to the Controller.
• Research all problems to a satisfactory conclusion.
• Complete and maintain all required paperwork, records, documents, electronic images, etc.
• Maintain filing systems: both paper and electronic.
• Back up process for Sales Invoice creation and Customer payment postings as needed.
• Work with the Staff Accountants to ensure compliance with sales from vendors.
• Route USPS mail to the appropriate employees.

Requirements

Technical Knowledge:

• Proficient in MS Teams, Outlook, Word, and Excel
• Basic knowledge of accounting practices.
• Strong data entry, written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Strong organizational and analytical skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.

Coursework or equivalent experience:

• 1+ years prior accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Associate’s degree preferred.

Bonus is paid as follows for employees working 34 or more hours per week: $500 after 30 days of employment, $1,000 after 90 days, $1,000 after 180 days; for employees working 28-33 hours per week: $375 after 30 days of employment, $750 after 90 days, $750 after 180 days; for employees working 20-27hours per week: $250 after 30 days of employment, $500 after 90 days, $500 after 180 days for employees working less than 20 hours per week: $125 after 30 days of employment, $250 after 90 days, $250 after 180 days.
