Position Summary:
Maintain the JDE general ledger system to ensure the integrity of accounting records for the preparation of financial statements. Assures that assigned day to day operations are carried out in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and established company policies and objectives.
Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To:
- Coordinate the monthly close of the general ledger accounts. Communicate with other departments to ensure that all necessary information is gathered and ready for monthly close.
- Perform specific accounting functions as assigned by the Assistant Controller including but not limited to accounting for fixed assets, payroll, property taxes, and inventory.
- Complete monthly bank reconciliations and resolve any differences.
- Complete other balance sheet reconciliations monthly/quarterly.
- Assist with district inventory counts (as needed).
- Review general ledger accounts for transactions which may need to be reclassified.
- Perform monthly income statement trend analysis and interpret trends or deviations from norms.
- Provide error-free work to all internal and external customers as related to the output of their position.
Required Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or business or 4+ years of progressive accounting experience.
- 4 years of experience creating general ledger entries, conducting bank reconciliations, and analyzing general ledger accounts.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
- Analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
- Ability to work well under pressure.
- Drive for continuous improvement.
- Ability to work with other teams throughout the organization.
- JD Edwards/One World (preferred).
