Umauma Experience, LLC, a thriving adventure tourism company, seeks a highly skilled and detail-oriented professional to join our team as an Accountant / Controller. This key position will play a pivotal role in managing the financial operations, including overseeing inventory management, to ensure accuracy and compliance and contribute to the overall success of our organization.

Responsibilities:

  1. Financial Reporting and Analysis:
    • Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, reports, and forecasts.
    • Conduct variance analysis and provide insights into financial performance.
    • Generate management reports to support strategic decision-making.
  2. Budgeting and Forecasting:
    • Collaborate with department heads to develop annual budgets.
    • Monitor and analyze budget performance, providing recommendations for improvement.
    • Preparation of financial forecasts.
  3. Cash Flow Management:
    • Oversee daily cash flow activities and optimize working capital.
    • Implement effective cash management strategies to ensure liquidity.
    • Coordinate with various departments to streamline financial processes.
  4. Compliance and Tax Management:
    • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulations, and tax requirements.
    • Collaborate with external auditors for periodic audits and reviews.
    • Stay updated on changes in financial regulations and implement necessary adjustments.
  5. General Ledger Maintenance:
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date general ledger accounts.
    • Reconcile bank statements, credit card transactions, and other financial accounts.
    • Implement internal controls to safeguard financial assets.
  6. Accounts Payable and Receivable:
    • Supervise the processing of invoices and payments.
    • Manage customer invoicing and collection processes.
    • Monitor accounts receivable aging and take appropriate actions.
  7. Inventory Management:
    • Oversee and coordinate the tracking and valuation of inventory.
    • Implement and maintain effective inventory control procedures.
    • Collaborate with operations teams to optimize inventory levels and reduce carrying costs.
  8. Software Proficiency:
    • Utilize QuickBooks Desktop for accurate and efficient financial record-keeping.
    • Leverage Microsoft Excel for complex financial analysis, modeling, and reporting.
    • Proficiently use MS Office products to enhance overall productivity and communication.
  9. Team Leadership:
    • Lead and mentor the finance team, fostering a collaborative and results-oriented culture.
    • Conduct regular performance reviews and identify opportunities for professional development.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA certification is a plus.
  • Proven experience in accounting and financial management roles.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and tax compliance.
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks, Microsoft Excel, and MS Office products.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy and ability to meet deadlines.
