Accountant

This Accountant handles general accounting functions including accounts payable review, accounts receivable review, general ledgers, and assists in monthly closes. This position reports to Accounting Manager and/or Controller.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
* Monthly review of assigned profit center's income statements.
* Analyzes and reconciles balance sheet accounts and takes ownership of differences and potential process changes.
* Provides assistance on the monthly close, interacting with various departments and levels of management.
* Prepares various financial reports for management and operations.
* Enters journal entries, coordinates accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger.
* Builds effective relationships with operation management.
* Participate in yearly external audits.
* Assists on projects or duties as assigned.
Requirements:
* Bachelor of Science in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.
* At least 2-5 years of experience in the accounting profession
* 2 years of experience in General Ledger
* Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Access is preferred
* Attention to detail
* Strong organizational and analytical skills
* Excellent oral and written communication skills
* Excellent customer service skills
* Experience in Lawson Accounting Software/CSF a plus
* 5-10% travel to field offices annually
