Job Description
Johnson Service Group is looking for an Accountant with general ledger & bank reconciliations experience for one of our Clients in San Jose. This person would assist in the GL areas, process payroll entries, handle P-card processing, handle Expense Report reimbursement, scanning of cash receipts to backup, perform various account reconciliations.
Responsibilities:
- Book monthly and annual journal entries relating to the bi-weekly payroll, cost allocation, revenue and expense accrual, reclassification, debt issuance and debt service payment.
- Process the credit card transaction interface from the bank; check the transactions for accuracy and proper account coding.
- Reconcile bank accounts, various asset and liability accounts, and payroll transactions interfaced to the general ledger.
- Process general invoices relating to health insurance, leased properties, and other similar requests submitted by other departments.
- Compute and process claim and fee reimbursements for the Board of Directors.
- Develop and maintain records on fixed assets; prepare the required reports and schedules.
- Process daily receipts, deposit checks received, prepare journal entries as needed for property tax and other revenue, and process the cash and revenue interface files to the general ledger.
- Process employee expense reimbursements for travel, mileage, professional licenses, and other claims; ensure compliance with Client policy.
- Participate in the year-end close process; prepare financial reports, financial notes disclosures, audit work schedules as requested by auditors.
- Respond to customer inquiries; provide technical assistance and training to co-workers on matters related to financial accounting.
Qualifications:
- Generally accepted accounting principles, as well as governmental accounting and financial management practices in compliance with the Governmental Accounting Standards Board.
- Working experience in the areas of General Ledger, Accounts Payable, and/or Accounts Receivable.
- Principles and practices of financial analysis and reporting.
- Principles and procedures related to budgeting, auditing, and financial controls.
- Enterprise financial system such as Infor, Oracle, or Peoplesoft.
- Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Email)
- Ability to Independently perform the full range of professional accounting functions.
- Able to participate in and conduct accounting audits.
- Able to prepare a variety of clear and concise financial summaries and accounting reports.
- Able to communicate Clearly and Concisely
- Able to process and analyze huge amounts of transactions with the use of technology.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field - Directly related experience may be substituted for the college requirement based on one and one-half years of experience for one year of education to a maximum of four years
- Acct I - One year of professional accounting exp. required or
- Acct II – Four years of professional accounting exp. required
Rate starting at $39.50/hr DOE
