Position Summary:
The Accountant performs professional level accounting work in the maintenance and review of fiscal records for construction projects, processes out-side broker commissions and assists with ad-hoc projects and general support tasks when necessary.
Job Duties:
- Set up construction projects in the job cost system and track project budgets, commitments and actual costs for projects; review leases and other approval documents to ensure that project costing is in compliance.
- Process PO’s for contractor and consultant contracts, coding to appropriate projects and cost codes.
- Review and code invoices, contractor pay applications and tenant reimbursement requests and route for approval and processing; work with Source-To-Pay team to resolve issues.
- Review accuracy of out-side and internal broker commission calculations and route payments for processing; work with the Leasing department to resolve issues.
- Prepare and process Journal entries related to month-end and day-to-day activities.
- Close out projects and POs on a timely basis and identify savings/overages.
- Assist with fixed asset capitalization.
- Work closely with Construction, Development and Operations teams to ensure the proper tracking of project costs; provide superior assistance and support as needed to the teams by being customer service oriented.
- Maintain relationships with vendors and communicate Company expectations and requirements to vendors.
- Perform other related duties and assist with ad-hoc projects as necessary requiring system and intermediate to advanced Excel knowledge.
Minimum Qualifications / Other Expectations:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance or related field.
- 2-4 years work experience in accounting or finance.
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
- Strong organization and customer service skills.
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills.
- Accounting applications (SAP preferred).
Compensation:
Base Pay Range: $73,900.00 - $91,700.00
Actual placement within this range may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location.
