Accountant

Overview

A leading mid-market roofing construction company is seeking an experienced Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in accounting practices, with experience in the construction or roofing industry being highly advantageous. This role involves managing day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting, and supporting the Controller/President with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis tasks.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily accounting tasks including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger entries.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and relevant financial regulations.
• Assist with the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
• Support the Controller in the budgeting and forecasting process, providing accurate financial data and analysis.
• Maintain and reconcile balance sheet and general ledger accounts.
• Participate in the development and implementation of financial policies and procedures to improve efficiency and internal controls.
• Assist with audit preparations and interact with external auditors as needed.
• Provide financial analysis and reports to support decision-making processes.
• Manage financial documentation and records, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
• Work closely with the operations team to support project accounting and financial management needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field. CPA or working towards CPA is a plus.
• A minimum of 3 years of accounting experience, preferably in the construction or roofing industry.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, GAAP, and financial reporting.
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, with experience in Sage 300 or Sage Intacct, CRM, and Procore highly preferred.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling financial data.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work well in a team environment.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
