Job Description
SchoolMint is seeking a Junior Accountant with experience in Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable. You will provide overall support to our Controller, Accounting team, and various departments. This is an exciting opportunity to develop skills and experience that will serve as the basis for a career in Finance in the tech industry.
Responsibilities
Accounts Receivable
- Invoice customer per contract terms
- Monitor customer accounts to ensure timely payments
- Perform weekly collection calls/emails to customers regarding outstanding balances
- Respond to all customers inquiries in a timely manner and escalate as needed
- Deposit and post checks received
- Assist with monthly, quarterly and annual sales tax calculations and filings
Accounts Payable
- Review and process expense reports submitted by employees
- Reconcile credit card statements and ensure receipt of supporting documentation
- Enter and route vendor bills to the appropriate manager for approval
General Accounting
- Assist in year-end 1099 filings
- Prepare balance sheet schedules in accordance with month end close
- Assist in year-end audit requests
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Economics or a related field
- Strong attention to detail and highly organized
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment with project deadlines
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets
- Excellent communication and written skills
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with different levels of employees
