Account Manager Job Description:
This position is responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with commercial lines accounts. Account managers work independently to advise and service client accounts
Account Manager Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients through advising and responding to all correspondence in a quick and accurate manner.
- Includes answering questions regarding all lines of coverage, and assisting with plan and/or carrier changes, claims, and billing
- Collaborate with risk advisors to determine and meet client goals.
- Analyze markets for competitive pricing and develop insurance solutions for current clients as well as quotes from carriers for accuracy
- Evaluate and prepare renewal comparisons and policy proposals,
- Evaluate and process client requests to ensure appropriate coverage is met,
- Resolve inquiries on service problems, billing and claims to ensure client satisfaction, and
- Receive and process new business, renewals, and cancellations.
- Schedule and participate in client meetings as necessary.
- Develop and maintain positive and effective relationships with partner insurance carriers.
- Promote value-added services available through North Risk Partners (i.e., professional consulting, webinars/seminars, communications, Zywave tools, and more).
- Refer business across all departments (i.e., property and casualty, employee benefits, and personal lines).
Account Manager Requirements:
- High school degree or equivalent required
- Bachelor's degree preferred but not required
- Previous insurance experience
- Ability to maintain property and casualty insurance license
- Positive can-do attitude
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills
- Demonstrates a strong understanding of the fundamentals of customer service
- A working knowledge of standard technology, including core Microsoft Office products: Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint
- A team player who collaborates between departments and works well with his/her coworkers
- A professional who demonstrates the ability to carry on a conversation with business owners and decision makers
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment
