About the role
This Account Manager Development Program is designed for an individual that has the desire and potential to become a Sales professional responsible for establishing, developing, and growing an assigned territory.
  • Full time position
  • Travel may be required.
  • Location: Simpsonville, SC
  • Salary will be based on experience.
AM Development Program Details:
  • 3 to 4 months training with Inside Sales Team on processes and products
  • 3 to 4 months in Business Development
  • 3 to 4 months in dual role supporting Inside Sales and Account
Note: Product training will continue throughout all phases of training and development.

Responsibilities – Account Manager
  • Review and update sales territory plan and set goals and objectives accordingly.
  • Prepare and conduct sales presentations of products to new and existing customers.
  • Determine customer requirements and expectations to recommend specific products.
  • Negotiate and establish price and terms in accordance with standard procedures.
  • Prepare and communicate a quote to the customer.
  • Conduct needs analysis by product specifications or plan survey and recommend products and services that would add value, enhance uptime and/or increase productivity.
  • Work with inside sales, vendors, and management to establish strategies for customer communication.
  • Respond to customer inquiries to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Remain current on product and industry knowledge by attending sales meetings, vendor training, trade shows, or reading trade journals.
  • Submit expense reports as required.
  • Utilize & maintain CRM for assigned accounts and follow defined sales process.
  • Respond to customer inquiries and provide technical or product assistance as appropriate.
  • Conduct equipment, product, and energy efficiency surveys.
  • Demonstrate and instruct customers on product installation, use and maintenance as required.
  • Document benefits and/or cost savings to customers.
  • Communicate customer concerns to inside sales staff, management, or vendors.
  • Monitor customer’s on-site inventory and recommend changes as needed.
  • Review and advise management, vendors, and customers on distributor’s own inventory levels.
    Monitor customer’s open order status and expedite as needed.
  • Monitor customer’s current credit status.
  • Determine sales potential for new and existing customers through inquiry, observation, or periodical research.
  • Follow-up on potential sales leads.
  • Analyze customer’s strengths and weaknesses to assist in determining sales potential.
  • Represent company at trade shows to gain market information and promote sales process.
  • Monitor market trends and notify management of opportunities for new products and services.
  • Provide customers with appropriate safety, environmental and quality documentation as requested.
  • Review and understand company business and ethical policies.
  • Understand terms and conditions of sales and the extent of liability and responsibility.
  • Communicate and interact professionally with other team members.
  • Communicate company’s commitment to continuous improvement process.
  • Perform other duties as required.
Candidate requirements
  • Ability to understand mechanical products such as power transmission and bearings.
  • BA/BS degree preferred; High school diploma required.
  • Basic computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office are required.
  • Good ability to multitask, have attention to detail, good writing and verbal communication and overall organizational skills.
  • While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to use hands to fingers, handle, or feel, reach with both hands and arms; and talk or hear.
  • The employee is frequently required to stand, walk; and stoop, kneel, or crouch.
  • You may also be required to sit and climb or balance.
  • You must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to ten pounds, rarely lift and/or move up to fifty pounds.
  • For the most part ambient room temperatures, lighting and traditional office equipment as found in typical office environment. May require visits to customer sites with exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises.
  • Work environment may involve some exposure to hazards, chemicals, or physical risk, which require following basic safety precautions.
  • Must have the ability to work independently, be able to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Must have excellent telephone and customer service skills.
  • Successful candidates must submit to post offer pre-employment physical examination, drug screen, and have an acceptable 3-year Motor Vehicle Report as may be required by current company policy.
