What You Will Do

We are looking for a high energy, highly motivated, and creative person to join the team as our Account Manager in Food Service/Small Format. The Account Manager, Food Service/Small Format is responsible for delivering the revenue, distribution, and trade funding objectives for the channel in accordance with company sales plans and budgets. This individual must be experienced, motivated, inspired, organized, creative, willing to roll up their sleeves with a strong work ethic.

Responsibilities

  • Total sales and P+L responsibility for assigned retailers
  • Manage headquarter responsibility for Vistar, Foodbuy, Compass & All Other Foodservice Customers
  • Manage key partners such as Canteen, Staples, Dicks Sporting Goods, Office Depot, Academy Sports, Bon Appetit, Follet Bookstores, etc
  • Willingness to learn new classes of trade, as this role will continue to evolve with Chomps growth
  • Manage distributors and brokers output to grow sales
  • Analyze consumption & distributor data to identify headwinds and opportunities to quickly drive new product/category distribution initiatives
  • Implement retailer promotional plans in line with sales/marketing plans as well as shopper marketing programming tactics where appropriate
  • Manage budgets in proportion to sales revenue + be a tight manager of trade spending
  • Deliver distribution, shelf management, pricing, and promotional objectives for accounts
  • Monitor and maintain all expenditures to stay in line with sales revenues.
  • Identify new business opportunities through innovation and price/pack strategies, and lead internal projects with innovation team, OPS, and leadership
  • Plan a monthly calendar which includes extensive travel such as, retailer appointments, broker meetings, distributor meetings, trade shows, regional shows, corporate office visits, working the market during a visit, etc.
  • Accept responsibility for the organizational goals by taking ownership of new and different duties and identifying new opportunities within the sales department.
  • Conduct market tours within each quarter covering all major customers

Who You Are

  • 4+ years of experience in CPG within the Food Service/Unattended Retail industry
  • Knowledge of and history working with Food Service/Unattended Retail/Special Markets retailers and brokers
  • Excellent interpersonal, networking and relationship building skills. This person can start conversations with anyone and create a positive association with Chomps brand
  • Strong collaborator, ability to work with cross-functional teams to get results
  • Experience in a start-up environment ideal preferred
  • Experience in sales planning, trade management and forecasting
  • Ability to multi-task and work in fast-paced, high demand environment
  • Self-sufficient and highly detailed oriented
  • Passion for natural and organic products
  • Ability to travel for trade shows, sales calls, and meetings - approximately 20% of time (in and out of home region)
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Must be an analytical thinker and data-driven; strong data analysis skills and experience working with SPINS, Nielsen, and Numerator data
  • Have worked with trade management and demand planning software
  • Strong PC skills including online applications, MS Office

Position: Account Manager, Food Service/Small Format

Reports to: Director of Sales

Location: Remote, with travel requirements

Type: Full-Time, exempt

Salary Range Opportunity:

  • The salary range for this role is $110,000 - $115,000 annually - plus 20% annual bonus

  • Our salary ranges are based on verified market data and our philosophy of paying competitively for our size and industry
  • Individual pay rate decisions are based on several factors, including qualifications for the role, experience level, skillset, and balancing internal equity relative to peers at the company
  • In addition to base salary, full-time team members receive medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401K 6% match, and monthly reimbursements for wellness and home office.
