Sr. Account Executive, Specialty Market
About the Job:
As a Specialty Market Account Executive, you’ll play a critical role in supporting MetLife’s growth. This team provides employee benefits sales and solutions to U.S.-based employers through alternate distribution and strategic alliances—and with over 15,000 customers, it generates approximately $1.1 billion in annual sales and $4+ billion in revenue. Industry-wide, this $52 billion market typically grows 3-4%—but thanks to our exceptional team, MetLife consistently achieves 6-7% growth.
You’ll help us maintain this momentum, working closely with advisors to small and regional businesses who want to expand their employee benefits. At the same time, you’ll work collaboratively with various other departments, allowing you to explore new career possibilities and develop new strengths.

You’re looking for MetLife. Here’s what we’re looking for from you:
- Oversee multi-million dollar sales pipeline within his/her sales territory to deliver sales projections to senior leadership.
- Responsible for multi-million dollar in-force book of business for MetLife
- Support and oversee negotiations with local product and underwriting partners to achieve sales growth while meeting persistency and margin expectations.
- Direct sales and growth initiatives for MetLife, working closely with key sales partners along with internal partners.
- Own relationships and engagement with firm leadership at National Level and partner closely with key internal sales partners to eliminate barriers and drive local growth strategies.
- Establish and communicate financial plans for each partner firm and provide ongoing monitoring and reporting.
- National strategy development and local execution
- Design unique Supplemental Compensation Strategies
Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills

- HS Diploma or equivalent (Bachelor's preferred)
- 6 months' experience in sales or MetLife internal sales training program required.
- Experience in sales and/or after-sales service—with a proven track record of success
- Valid Life & Health and Property & Casualty licenses, or the ability to obtain within 3 months of hire
Preferred:
- 3+ years' experience in sales preferred
